Engineering & development

CATIA V5-based engineering. From concept and prototype to production-ready solution — with manufacturing and measurement under one roof.

From idea to production-ready solution

Predire Industries offers engineering and product development in CATIA V5, in close collaboration with the customer. What sets us apart is that engineering, manufacturing and measurement happen under one roof — giving short communication paths, fast iteration and designs that are optimised for real production.

CATIA V5 — industry standard for industrial engineering

We work in CATIA V5, the industry standard within automotive, aerospace and heavy industry. CATIA lets us create complex 3D models, sheet-metal designs, assemblies and manufacturing drawings with high precision. We can also receive and export files in STEP, IGES, Parasolid and other common formats, which makes collaboration easy regardless of which CAD system you use yourselves.

Close collaboration with the customer

Every engineering assignment starts with a dialogue. We get to know your application, your requirements and your constraints before we start designing. During the engineering work we maintain ongoing contact and present solutions in 3D to make sure we are on the right track. That saves time, reduces the number of revision rounds and gives a better end result.

Prototyping

Because we have our own workshop with laser cutting, turning, milling, welding and sheet-metal work, we can produce physical prototypes directly after the engineering phase. That gives fast feedback — you can see, hold and test the part before it goes into series production. If anything needs to be adjusted, the path back to engineering is short.

Engineering + manufacturing + measurement = one supplier

The biggest advantage of placing your engineering assignment with Predire Industries is that the entire chain sits under one roof. The designer is right next door to the workshop and the metrology department. That means:

  • Designs are optimised for manufacturability from the start
  • Manufacturing problems can be solved directly by adjusting the design
  • Prototypes are measured in our measurement station and verified against the CAD model
  • Changes following measurement can be implemented immediately
  • You only need one point of contact through the entire project

Transport fixtures and special designs

We have particular experience designing transport fixtures, steel packaging and inspection fixtures. That includes everything from simple rack units to complex fixtures with pneumatic clamps, adjustable supports and integrated quality control points. We understand the requirements that the automotive and manufacturing industries place on load carriers, material handling and geometric inspection.

Product development

Beyond pure engineering assignments we offer product development in a broader sense. That can mean improving an existing product, adapting a design to new materials or manufacturing methods, or developing a completely new solution from a functional description. We combine engineering competence with practical manufacturing experience to reach solutions that work in the real world.

FAQ about engineering

Which CAD system do you use?

We work in CATIA V5, the industry standard within automotive, aerospace and heavy industry. We can receive and export files in STEP, IGES, Parasolid, DWG and other common formats.

Can you work from our existing models?

Yes. We accept CAD files in most common formats and can develop your existing models further or use them as a starting point for new designs. If you only have a sketch or a physical part we can measure it and create a CAD model.

Do you offer prototyping?

Yes. Because we have our own workshop with laser cutting, turning, milling and welding, we can produce physical prototypes directly after the engineering phase. That gives fast feedback and the opportunity to iterate the design before series production.

How long does it take from concept to production?

Timing varies with project complexity. A simple fixture design can be production-ready within 2-3 weeks, while more complex development projects can take 2-3 months. We provide a realistic timeline at project start.

Do you handle the entire chain from engineering to delivery?

Yes. We offer the entire chain under one roof — engineering in CATIA V5, prototyping, series production, measurement for quality control and complete assembly. You only need one supplier and one point of contact.
