Inspection fixtures

We manufacture inspection fixtures for quality control and verification of manufactured parts.

Inspection fixtures for verification of manufactured parts

An inspection fixture is a tool used to verify that a manufactured part matches its geometry. The part is placed in the fixture in a defined way and checked against reference points — manually with measuring instruments or with a coordinate measuring machine. Inspection fixtures are widely used across manufacturing, including in the automotive industry where we have long experience.

How an inspection fixture works

The fixture consists of a base plate with reference points, supports and clamps. The part is placed the same way every time, which makes critical dimensions quick and repeatable to check. That simplifies quality control during ongoing production.

Engineering and manufacturing

Our engineering department works in CATIA V5. We receive the customer's 3D model of the part and engineer the fixture from the desired measurement points and setup principles. The base plate and precision components are machined in our workshop, while welded structural parts are produced in parallel. Final assembly takes place in-house.

Materials

We typically use tool steel or hardened steel for reference points, while the base plate is often made from cast iron or a welded steel structure depending on size and need. We adapt the choice to the application.

Connection to Predire Testcenter

For measurement and testing services we cooperate with our sister company Predire Testcenter. Through cooperation within Predire Group you can order both the fixture and any related measurement services from the same group.

FAQ about inspection fixtures

What is an inspection fixture?

An inspection fixture is a precision tool used to verify that manufactured parts meet their geometric tolerances. The part is placed in the fixture and checked against defined reference points — either manually with measuring instruments or with a coordinate measuring machine. It enables fast, repeatable quality control in production.

How does geometric inspection work?

Geometric inspection means systematically verifying that a part's shape, position and dimensions are within specified tolerances. It covers measurement planning, choice of inspection method, fixture design, measurement and analysis. Inspection fixtures are a central tool — they create a repeatable setup of the part and enable fast, reliable inspection.

What is the link to Predire Testcenter?

Predire Testcenter is a sister company within Predire Group offering measurement and testing services. Through our cooperation you can order both the fixture and related measurement services from the same group.

Which industries do you supply inspection fixtures to?

We have experience from the automotive industry, the rail industry and general engineering. Our background as a supplier to Volvo has given us a good understanding of how inspection fixtures are used in ongoing production.
